When You Just 'Click'

So one thing I've discovered in my 'Quest for Cloth' knowledge is that there are a LOT of VERY nice and VERY helpful Cloth Diapering Mommas. In fact, I haven't met a rude one yet. It amazes me that one thing can pull together SO MANY different people that are always so helpful and willing to answer even the silliest questions!!

But what's even more is that one Online store who just wanted to bring the glory of cloth to all has managed to pull in such an gathering of people that words cannot express quite how I feel.

Mami's and Papi's started in the hearts of a husband and wife team who wanted to get ready for life after Military retirement. Their dream has turned into a reality that has touched over 2000 people and has brought together folks from all walks of life who share a similar purpose.

The best part about this most amazing store is the dedication that it's founders have placed in it. Forgoing many practical business 'rules', Mami's and Papi's have turned their customers into family. We all share trials and tribulations and comfort one another. We have become one giant community where someone is bound to find at least one other person who "gets it" when no one else seems to. And frankly when you're a mom all you really need sometimes it just that. Someone who can relate to what you're going through and help you laugh your way through it.

So if you value any of these things I highly recommend checking them out. Oh and in case I didn't bring it up, they have awesome prices on Cloth Diapers and all things related. :) But really I love them for them. Their store is just the icing on the cake!!

All I want for a Holiday Card

I don't know if any of you moms out there are like my but ever since I had a baby I ADORE sending photo cards out to people. I haven't since our birth announcements but Christmas is RIGHT around the corner and I plan on doing it again. I happened to stummble upon this GREAT promo that give you 50 free photo cards from if you do a blog about it.Of course I signed up to be selected for the promo and was thrilled to get the chance to!

I myself am a HUGE HUGE HUGE fan of the flat photo cards. They are plain, simple, easy to envelope, and you don't have trouble signing them. That's my problem with folded cards that you sign. I always have trouble because I feel like I need to do more than write my name, I have to put some sort of personalized message. This way it's one less holiday worry for me. However you may feel differently and I have to say Shutterfly has some of my favourite designs this year. None are cheesy like some places and a lot are very classy looking, here's a link to check them out yourself

I usually go for the 4x8 photo cards, however this year this one caught my eye: ! Our family is having professional photos taken on the 4th of Novemeber and I think this photo card will have the PERFECT feel for what I want this Christmas. Simple and Elegant and Gorgeous! :) Who could ask for more?

T- One Month to Leaving

In about a month I get to move back down to California for six months. I'm excited though this is a mixed blessing. My husband is deploying soon (no specific date given as that is OPSEC sensitive material) however the holidays will be no fun this year. This deployment means more income while I get my business set up, which is going to be so much fun. The down side is Chris will be missing several important milestones of our firstborn while he's gone. I stay on the line that our son won't remember that Daddy missed these things, but Daddy and I know and a little bit of our hearts break at the thought alone.

Other advantages to moving back to California? The Fashion District. Access to fabric that I've only dreamed of without purchasing online and being disappointed at the arrival. I'm sure once I set foot into The Loft and Michael Levine's for the first time in five years I may die and go to heaven. This will also be the beginning of something wonderful as I start to pursue several new adventures in my business. Up to now I have primarily been a seamstress of all things Renaissance related. Soon I plan on tackling Children's Apparel and Cloth Diapers. Two things that could very well launch my business forward enough to be self sustaining. :)

Various things will be posted on this blog ranging from sewing tips, baby trials and tribulations and joys, cooking fiascoes (as well as successes) and other things I find interesting, useful, or helpful not just to myself but hopefully others. :)
